Our Professional hosting plans are designed to deliver the very best website performance and unlike most Virtual Private Server (VPS) solutions that run generic control panels such as cPanel and Plesk, we keep the server-side software as simple as possible, ensuring that all of your server's resources are dedicated to running your websites.
Your websites can still send email (e.g. contact form submissions, order notifications etc), we just don't provide traditional IMAP/POP email accounts on this service.
If you need basic POP/IMAP email, we would recommend pairing a Professional hosting plan with a Starter hosting plan. With this setup, you get all of the benefits of our Professional hosting, with a convenient email service.
All of our servers are based in the UK, we operate out of three Tier 3+ datacentres in Manchester, London and Maidenhead.
Each datacentre is ISO27001:2013, ISO9001, ISO50001 accredited and they're also enrolled in the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres. Being Tier 3+ facilities, they provide N+N redundant power and cooling, as well as VESDA fire protection and FM200 fire suppression. What's more, all three faciliites are powered by 100% renewable energy.
Absolutely. The large majority of the sites we host are WordPress based and whilst our hosting is compatible with basically any website, it's primarily designed for WordPress & WooCommerce.
From our control panel, you can easily install and manage your WordPress sites (updating, cloning & staging) and effortlessly boost performance using Scout's built-in optimisation features.
Our support team also have first hand experience with WordPress or PHP development, allowing us to provide expert WordPress support when you need it.
A processor or CPU's speed is measured in Gigahertz (GHz) and the performance of PHP based applications such as WordPress, Laravel & Magento is limited to the speed (GHz) of the CPU.
Most servers in the hosting industry have CPUs that run at 2.4 GHz (on average) and our standard hosting solutions such as Starter and Reseller are driven by these CPUs. Likewise, the P1 plan is driven by this class of CPU and we call this a Standard CPU.
We are one of the first companies to make use of 5 GHz CPUs for our P2 or higher Professional plans and as they're over 100% faster than the Standard CPUs, we can guarantee excellent out of the box website performance.
The P2 or higher plans also benefit from ultra fast NVMe™ storage which is 10× faster than SSD based storage.
We understand the importance of keeping your data safe and recoverable when something doesn't go to plan, that's why our Professional hosting plans are backed up every single day. Each backup is kept for a minimum of 7 days, allowing you to recover your website from any day in the last week.
You can also take on-demand backups (or snapshots) anytime you like, these are great for when you want to test an update and need to take a quick backup of your website before hitting the update button!
